Ten Minute Microwave Fudge at The Happy Housewife

Ten Minute Microwave Fudge at The Happy Housewife

This sounds great. I love the idea of chocolate and peanut butter.

I’m going to try this tomorrow with the boys. I need to bring snack for the Mom’s Room at Coop on Friday and this sounds good and easy!

We may have to try this one. I’m wondering though if we could make it on the stove, rather than the microwave. I really don’t like to use the microwave since it kills any good nutrients in the food.

Um, are there any “good nutrients”in fudge? LOL

Doesn’t chocolate have some good nutrients?

This sounds delicious! How many watts is your microwave? Mine is 1100 watts so wanted to make sure I don’t burn the fudge.

I like easy and fudge, so WINNER. Just wanted you to know that Mr. Linky has been revived. I am posting everyone’s links. Thanks for your patience, today.

I made this recipe for our gifts in a jar class today. The fudge was gone within minutes! Very easy, yummy recipe! I got lots of compliments on it. I am going to post a link back to your blog on Tuesday for those who may have missed out on this terrific recipe.

How are you feeling these days? When are you due?

I made this last night and it was a real hit. I made two batches–one with nuts and one without. I like nuts, but my favorite was the smooth fudge without nuts. Thanks for sharing.

This is very easy & really yum!

Love your site

I have this recipe and just made it last weekend but without the peanut butter. It was good but the consistency to me was not like true fudge. It didn’t stop me from eating half the pan…but it just wasn’t exactly it.

I’m craving your Mom’s fudge and I’m going to make it NOW!!

Trying this with honey instead of the powdered sugar…

Have you ever made fudge? For years I thought fudge was made in the microwave because that’s how my mom always made it.

Ten Minute Microwave Fudge at The Happy Housewife

It wasn’t until I was at a Christmas party once and someone was talking about having to watch the fudge that I realized folks had been making fudge much more complicated than it needed to be.

This microwave fudge recipe has been in my family for years and takes less than ten minutes to make. It turns out awesome every time! This fudge is so easy and delicious your friends will think you slaved hours in the kitchen with thermometers, double boilers, and fancy ingredients.

1 pound powdered sugar

½ cup cocoa

½ cup butter

¼ cup milk

½ cup chopped nuts

½ cup peanut butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

Sift 1 lb powdered sugar and cocoa in a 9×9 microwave safe dish.

Drop in ½ cup butter cut into pieces.

Pour in ¼ cup milk.

Microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly.

Stir in ½ cup chopped nuts, vanilla and peanut butter.

Refrigerate for one hour, then cut into squares.

Be sure to sift the powdered sugar and cocoa. Do not skip this step! It makes the fudge creamier. I have no idea why, but I've tried it both ways and sifting is so much better.

This homemade fudge is definitely cheaper than store bought fudge and tastes just as good! It is a great last minute dessert idea too, it only takes about an hour and fifteen minutes from start to eating.
