OMG. You’ve never been to Sur la Table?! But that’s, like, the best store ever. I just wander around and drool. And buy stuff. Can’t help it!

I love that your husband is protective of his cookies. Everyone should be! I would definitely guard these. They are the perfect fall cookie!

I’m so in love with these cookies!! Eek!

Sur la table is what Heaven looks like. I just know it! These cookies look phenomenal! Love the extra dip in white chocolate! Perfect for any Christmas cookie plate! Pinned

Thanks Julie!

Do you use fresh or dried cranberries? The ingredient list didn’t specify.

Yes, sorry about that Julie! It’s dried cranberries. I’ve updated the recipe. Thanks!

Would you recommend fresh? Maybe boiling them withe sugar to release and allowing them to cool before putting them in this recipe?

Hmm, I’ve never tried boiling cranberries like that, so I don’t know what that’d be like.

The nearest Sur la Table is about 1 1/2 hours away, so I’ve only been once. It took me forever to look around while my family was done in about 5 minutes. Next time I go alone or with a girlfriend:) Sorry that the baby didn’t make an appearance when you were visiting, but it sounds like your cousin and her husband had a wonderful time hanging out with you before the birth:) Anything dipped in white chocolate is dreamy to me and I love how cheery these cookies are!

Love that you dipped the cookies in white chocolate! Perfect for holiday gifts!

this look wonderful! I love the white chocolate + cranberry combo!

Thanks Angelyn!

Thanks Renee! Yes, such an awesome store!

Oh man I am pinning these to my Christmas board ASAP! I love all the flavors and textures you have going on in the one glorious cookie!

can you make the dough ahead of time?

Yes, it should be fine if made a day ahead.

Can you freeze the dough (in balls or a slab) or freeze the cookies? I want to start my Christmas baking early this year.

~LC

I haven’t ever frozen these, but I’d think both ways would be fine. My preference would be to freeze the dough so the cookies are fresh, but totally up to you.

What is candiquick? Never used it. Can I get it at the grocery store. Can I use white chocolate chips? Want to make them for gifts for my friends this Christmas\u2026. They look awesome!

It’s basically a chocolate coating that’s easier for melting than regular chocolate chips. It’s similar to Wilton candy melts, if you’ve ever used those. You can certainly use regular white chocolate chips though.

A great idea for a cookie, but I would make some changes to this recipe.

Firstly, do not use a heaping tablespoon. The cookies will turn out too large. Don’t use any more than a tablespoon. Also, large cookies are also more susceptible to breaking while being dipped, especially since these cookies turn out VERY soft. Even the smaller cookies will break apart when dipping, because they are so soft. Bake at least 10-11 minutes, maybe 12. I unfortunately followed the recipe exactly and lost a few Contrary to what this recipe says, do not take them out before they are done. Even after cooling and sitting all night they will be too soft to dip without losing a couple (especially if you use a heaping tablespoon).

Made these cookies last night for Christmas this week and they are so freaking good!!! Thanks for the recipe!! My new favorite cookies!!!

Awesome! I’m still such a fan of these cookies too. Love them!

How did you get your cookies to be so perfectly round?

Rather than just scooping out the dough, I rolled it into balls and then flattened them a little bit before putting them on the cookie sheet.

Love this recipe. Also, I just saw one of your pictures on a flyer for Royal Crest Dairy in Colorado.

Thanks Becky! I’m so glad you enjoyed the cookies!

Wow, I’m not familiar with Royal Crest Dairy. Do you remember which recipe the photo was for?

It was for this recipe. It’s the 6th picture down from the top. The one with the cookies only on the red napkin. I was honestly kinda floored when I saw the pic on their flyer because I thought using other’s pics was frowned upon.

These cookies are so good. Loved making them and everyone at work loved eating them!!!!

These White Chocolate Dipped Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies are some of my very favorite cookies! Have you ever had a cookie dipped in white chocolate before? It’s the best! And these are absolutely perfect for this time of year.

This weekend was a lot of fun. After spending some time with the folks from ALDI (which I’ll talk more about later this week), I got to spend the weekend with my cousin, who is expecting a baby any day now. We were all hoping that she’d have the baby while I was there, but the baby just was not going to cooperate. So by the time I was leaving yesterday, we were making our predictions for when it would finally make an appearance.

The one good thing about the baby not coming yet was that I got to spend a little more chill time with my cousin and her husband. They are total foodies and love eating different food and trying different restaurants. I don’t have to worry about picking where to eat with them, they always know great places that they want to take me.

They also like to order a few different things and have us all share and taste everything. Total foodies! The perfect people to eat with. We had some italian one night and mexican the other. I had the best guacamole I’ve ever had! Then they took me to a great dessert place called Hot Chocolate. We ordered three desserts and hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows. Mine was a pumpkin hot chocolate. SO stinkin’ good.

We also did a little shopping. I went to Sur de la Table for the first time. I can’t believe I’d never been! The baking supplies! It look me forever to look through everything for cake decorating. And all the cake pan sizes -I totally wish I had one nearby. Such a fun store.

It was really nice to be away from home and forced to relax. I hardly knew what to do with myself. We went and got our nails done yesterday and while my nails are now a super cute pink, I’m not so sure it’ll last long. It’ll be back to baking today, which means lots of dishes, which is bad news for nails. It was nice to be a little pampered though.

Being in a city like Chicago, it always strikes me how different southern and northern cities are. Even in downtown Atlanta, everything still feels so spread out in comparison to northern cities like Chicago. The train system in the north is actually usable. Cabs are everywhere. It’s just so different and fun to be able to visit.

Onto the cookies! These things are the jam. I had similar ones that a friend made last year around Thanksgiving and they were a huge hit -which left me wanting to make my own version. Finally Thanksgiving has come back around and here they are!

As usual, the hubs was protective over his cookies. The recipe makes quite a few though, so I was able to share. Everyone loved them. How can you not? I seriously love cranberries and oatmeal cookies together. Totally the default cookie I go for on a tray. And dipped in white chocolate? You can’t even imagine how good it is if you haven’t tried it. I love white chocolate chips in cookies and you’d think it’s like the same thing, but for some reason it’s not. It’s better. I can’t explain it -it just is.

And then with the pecans, it’s fall right in a cookie. I sprinkled some crushed pecans onto the white chocolate as it dried for some decoration, but you could easily leave them just with the white chocolate. Either way they are delicious.

Enjoy!
